Despite originating down the road in Puerto Rico, the Piña Colada drink has become something of a darling Cuban favourite. That said, a rum-based cocktail soaked with sweet coconut and refreshing pineapple juice was never going to fail with the Havana faithful, was it?
Piña Colada Cocktail Ingredients
One large measure of Bacardi Carta Oro rum
A blob of coconut purée (we use Coco Re’al)
One good glug of single cream
A decent amount pineapple juice
Pineapple wedge and leaf to garnish
How to make a Piña Colada
Fill a blender with ice cubes or crushed ice if you have it. Add the rum, purée and cream. Pour in your pineapple juice and give everything a good blast. Pour into a glass then garnish with a pineapple wedge and leaf to serve.
