Imagine jetting off to a beautiful tropical paradise this Christmas?
Say goodbye to freezing cold temperatures and chaotic Christmases with the entire extended family at home. Instead, say hello to dreamy sandy beaches, crystal clear waters and swaying palms trees. With a mojito in hand and not a care in the world. Sounds like absolute H-E-A-V-E-N.
…Erm, what were we talking about again? Ah, yeah. That’s right. We’ve rounded up our favourite exotic winter destinations that will have you saying, “holiday GOALS!”
We’re not saying you have to visit them this Christmas (then how would you get involved in our Christmas parties?!), but just reading through will have you feeling sunkissed. We promise.
1. Bondi Beach, Australia
Christmas Day on the scorching sands of Australia’s Bondi Beach have become the stuff of legend across the world, and with good reason. Featuring a huge party on the shore with DJs, food stalls and entertainment all day, it really is the perfect place to celebrate.
2. Dubai, UAE
Looking to combine your sun worship with some retail therapy? Look no further than the middle eastern metropolis of Dubai. With an average temperature of over 20 degrees, stunning beaches and some of the world’s biggest shopping malls, this is a place for serious sunbathing and spending.
3. Cancún, Mexico
Stretching out into the clear waters of the Caribbean sea, the Mexican city of Cancún is pretty much the perfect festive escape. Its 14 miles of beaches are to die for, most attractions stay open across the Christmas season and the nightlife is exceptional.
4. Maui, Hawaii
Nowhere is the phrase ‘tropical getaway’ more relevant than the stunning coastlines of Maui, the second largest of the Hawaiian islands. The beaches are as glorious as you would expect, the scenery breathtaking and the summit of the Haleakalā Volcano occasionally gets a dusting of snow come Christmas. Perfect!
5. Miami, USA
Will Smith loved the place enough to write a song about it, so we couldn’t leave the buzzing resort of Miami off our list. The clubs and bars are famous for their wild decadence, the temperatures are just about perfect and South Beach is about as vibrant as it gets.
6. Boa Vista, Cape Verde
Literally translated as ‘Beautiful View’, Boa Vista is a stunning Cape Verdean island located off the west coast of Senegal, known for stunning sand dunes and moonlike volcanic landscapes. Breathtaking white-sand beaches include Tortuga and the sprawling Santa Monica, where sea turtles nest on the shore and migrating humpback whales cross the choppy coastal waters.
7. Playa Chiquita, Costa Rica
Costa Rica is a tropical choose-your-own-adventure land, which you can choose to explore by foot, horseback or kayak. All trails lead to waterfalls, misty crater lakes or jungle-fringed, deserted beaches and at Playa Chiquita, you can look forward to a cocktail on the sand as a well-deserved, relaxing reward.
8. Tangalla, Sri Lanka
Tangalla is the gateway to the wide-open spaces and wide-open beaches of southeast Sri Lanka, full of old-world. Beyond the town, you’ll find endless beaches, timeless ruins, welcoming people, oodles of elephants, rolling surf, cheap prices, fun trains, famous tea and flavourful food… Making Sri Lanka irresistible for affordable winter sun that’s a little more affordable.
9. Havana, Cuba
We might be a little bias, but how could we not include our beloved Cuba in this list?
The tropical climate, the breathtaking beaches, the incredible architecture. Not to mention the RUM! Seriously, it is the second best place in the world to spend Christmas.
But, if whisking yourself away to one of these incredible destinations is a little too far fetched, you’re in LUCK! Because we’ve got the perfect alternative…
Join us at Revolución de Cuba for an unforgettable Cuban-style Christmas party. We’re talking totally tropical decor, mouth-watering Latin-inspired feasts, live salsa music, a packed dancefloor, tonnes of exotic cocktails and a whole lot of party spirit. YAS.
