It’s safe to say, winter is all about three things.

Desperately trying to keep warm. Desperately trying to keep warm. And yes, you guessed it, desperately trying to keep warm.

And while settling down in front of the fire with a massive duvet wrapped around you works pretty well, the absolute best way to keep the winter blues at bay this season…

Well, with some hearty, mouth-watering, and wonderfully warming comfort food obviously!

And to save you rummaging for cosy winter recipes for hours on end, we’ve done all the hard work for you and picked our favourite dishes you NEED to be making this January!

Moroccan Spiced Soup

Cooking time: 45 mins

Now, we simply couldn’t write about warming winter recipes without including a good old soup, especially when it has a comforting North African twist like this one!

Best enjoyed with a lightly toasted ciabatta on the side, this take on carrot and sweet potato soup includes coriander and chilli flakes before being thickened with chickpeas for a hearty dose of Moroccan vibes – perfect for when you need an adventure but it’s too cold to leave the house.

So, if you want to curl up with a bowl after a long day? Check out the recipe here.

Spiced Aubergine & Coconut Curry

Cooking time: 35 mins

As healthy as it is tasty, this complete gem of a recipe has it all.

Seeds, spices, coconut, and a fair few chillies combine to create a riot of flavour in this comforting curry, topped off with some melt-in-the-mouth aubergine. There’s no doubt about it, this is a spicy antidote to the winter months, and you can make it for yourself right here.

Sticky Pomegranate Persian Halloumi

Cooking time: 30 mins

Known for its delicious umami flavour and the way it’s a vegetarian staple at every summer BBQ, halloumi is SO versatile it’s even the star of loads of winter recipes too.

Take this exotic fusion of Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern flavours, with halloumi coated in ras el hanout, a Persian spice mix, and then paired with caramelised onions, bulgur wheat and pomegranate, for a dish that’s got all the kick you need this winter.
