There are some cocktails that are more than a clever combination of flavours. And some? Well, let’s just say these cocktails work so perfectly, they become icons.

The Daiquiri is one of them.

It’s exceedingly simple to make. Rum, lime and sugar – the Cuban Trinity – is all it takes. The intensely sweet citrus flavour has made it one of the most popular cocktails in the world, but of course, we couldn’t resist adding a little something extra.

Our Nuclear Daiquiri is a little bit like the classic, only turned up to eleven with Wray & Nephew’s overproof 60% ABV rum. Just to take the edge off, we also add a hint of ripe banana. Go ahead and give the recipe a try (but only if you can handle the fallout the day after).   

Nuclear Daiquiri Ingredients

25ml Bacardi Carta Blanca rum
25ml Wray & Nephew Overproof rum
25ml Crème de Banane 
25ml sugar syrup
25ml lime juice
Lime wheel to garnish

How to make the perfect Nuclear Daiquiri

Add all ingredients to a Boston glass and fill with ice. Give them a vigorous shake and then strain it all into a coupe glass. Garnish with a lime wheel on the rim of the glass.

Warning: this recipe is hazardously delicious. Use it with caution. Especially with it being relatively simple to make. However, simple cocktails are deceptive. Getting it exactly right takes years and years of experience. That’s where we come in.
